MCR continues drive against encroachments

RAWALPINDI: Despite holiday (Sunday) the team of Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi (MCR) continued drive against encroachment in different areas of the city.

Dilshad Ali Khan, in-charge anti-encroachment team under the direction of Chief Officer (CO) Khalid Javed Goraya and VCO Inamul Rehman, continued operation and cleared illegally encroached area from the venders and shopkeepers from Jamia Masjid Road, Banni and Circular Road on Sunday. Dilshad said that he would not allow any shopkeeper or vender to violate law and encroach government land.

People appreciated MCR operation and said that such operation should continue without any interruption as this is showing positive results and the traffic smoothly flows on the roads in these areas.The MCR team with their trucks confiscated goods and also carts placed on roads which were creating hurdles not for pedestrians but also for traffic too.

The MCR team also impounded several motorcycles for wrong parking. The violators were given stern warning not to encroach government land in any shape, otherwise cases would be registered against them or would face heavy fines.
