Meeting of NA body on Law and Justice cancelled
ISLAMABAD: The meeting of Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Law and Justice scheduled to be held today (Tuesday) has been cancelled as the Chairman of the Committee Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf suffered heart attack and admitted to a hospital in Lahore,.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal was scheduled to attend the meeting, who was summoned in the meeting to explain regarding allegation leveled by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for money laundering of $4.9 billion by former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
In the last meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Law and Justice, Chairman NAB Justice (R) Javed Iqbal was also summoned but he did not appear in the meeting and sought the further date to appear with argue that he received the notice on same day and was already scheduled to chair Executive Board meeting of the NAB.
Chairman Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Law and Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf accepted request of the Chairman NAB and fixed date of May 22 of the meeting. When contacted Member of the Committee Mian Abdul Manan confirmed postponement of the meeting due to ailment of the Chairman of Standing Committee of the National Assembly Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf.
