Naya Nazimabad Ramazan T20 Tournament inaugurated
KARACHI: The sixth edition of the Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament 2018 was inaugurated by National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) president Saeed Ahmed at a ceremony here at the picturesque Hussain Lawai Stadium late Monday evening.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Arif Habib, Chairman, Arif Habib Group, in the presence of current and former cricketers, including Iqbal Qasim, Abdul Raqeeb, Umar Akmal, Muhammad Irfan and Muhammad Nawaz.
All the 25 matches of the 21-day event will be played at the same venue with the final scheduled to be contested on June 4. Javedan Corporation CEO Samad Habib revealed that after the success of the Hussain Lawai Stadium, other sports facilities were being developed in Naya Nazimabad to boost indoor and outdoor sports.
Iqbal Qasim praised the management of Naya Nazimabad for building the stadium. Abdul Raqeeb expressed the hope that the stadium would host national tournaments in future. Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) Co-Chairman Alamgir Anwar Shaikh was delighted with the continued development of sports infrastructure in Naya Nazimabad.
