WASHINGTON: The person who tried to raise anti-Pakistan and obnoxious slogans during the address of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the United States Institute for Peace (USIP) on Friday last is being booked for impersonation since he gatecrashed on fake identity.
Ahmer Masti Khan, a US national, is known for his association with the Indian facilities in Washington and had been put on the ‘black list ‘by the USIP for entering its premises in Washington.
The diplomatic sources told ‘The News’ here on Sunday that the USIP had submitted an initial report to the Pakistan’s Embassy in Washington about the ugly episode and Pakistan Ambassador to the United States Syed Jalil Abbas Jilani had asked the institute to submit a detailed report about it. He had been informed by the administration of the institute that the report would be submitted to the mission tomorrow (Monday).
The institute assured that criminal proceedings would be instituted against the person who tried to disrupt the proceedings but failed.
He committed an offense by entering the auditorium on fake identity. He is an American national and the security of the function was entrusted with the US law enforcement agencies. Ahmer adopted unlawful behaviour, the sources added.
The person was seen visiting the Indian Embassy in Washington frequently and it is understood that his act was prompted by the Indians who tried to subvert the official trip of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the sources said.
