NOWSHERA: The Muttahidda Labour Federation (MLF) on Monday vowed to continue the struggle to secure rights of the working class.
Speaking at a press conference here, provincial president of the federation Muhammad Iqbal said the labourers were concerned about the devolution of the Employees Old-Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) under the 18th Amendment to the constitution.
He said the provinces would not be able to sustain the EOBI for long due lack of funds to pay pension and continue the welfare activities for labourers and their children, widows and orphans.
The labourers body office-bearer said the MLF had discussed the issue with the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. He said the chief minister had assured the MLF of cooperation. He said the provincial government would bring a bill in this regard.
