PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police launched its performance audit at the Central Police Office on Monday.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani presided over the ceremony.
Additional IGP Special Branch, Additional IGP operations, DIG operations, DIG investigation and member of teams selected for different districts attended it. The DIG investigation Mazharul Haq Kakakhel briefed the IGP about the police performance audit programme.
The performance audit is a simple concept of A to Z assessment from conception to policy making and from inputs given to affective process and their results. The purpose of the first ever performance audit of Police Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is to find out how efficient the police are at operational level to make good of resources and instructions issued by the government.
Ten districts will be covered in the first phase of performance audit. Ten teams having two members each have been selected for the purpose. The teams will visit the assigned district in the light of the operational guidelines issued to them.
They will submit a report to the IGP on the performance and shortcoming of the police for the year 2014 in the field. Separate marks have been fixed for each activity of the police. A pro forma has been printed and each audit officer will give marks on it. Nasir Khan Durrani told the participants that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police was the first force in the country to introduce performance audit practice.
