Islamabad: The Islamabad Police on Sunday arrested 70 suspects during search operation in various parts of the city, the police spokesman said.
IGP (Islamabad) Tahir Alam Khan directed SDPOs and SHOs to enhance patrolling as well as checking in various areas of the city and conduct search operation in slums, under-construction buildings, workshops, bus stands and inns.
Following his directions, the sub-divisional police officer headed the search operation in areas in the jurisdiction of Banigala, Tarnol, Margalla and Sihala police stations. Station house officers of Banigala, Tarnol, Margalla and Sihala police stations along with police team conducted search in the area of Begowal, Sarai Kharboza, Sector G-8, Pathan Colony, ‘katchi abadis’ and under-construction buildings as well as plazas. They succeeded in nabbing 70 suspects who are being investigated further.
The SSP Islamabad said that the purpose of the search operation and high vigilance is to ensure foolproof security in the city.He appealed citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.
