LAHORE
A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday barred the University of Health Sciences from announcing result of 100 students of Red Crescent Medical & Dental College and sought reply from it over affiliation of the college with it.
The bench, led by Justice Ayesha A Malik, issued the order on a petition of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC). Counsel for PMDC Barrister Muhammad Umar contended the council had already issued a notice to the college for cancellation of its affiliation for violating the rules and regulations and failing to meet set standards of education. He pointed out that a judicial commission had also recommended action against the college and PMDC had been asking the college to improve its education standard for two years. Instead, the college administration has been securing stay orders by misleading and concealing facts from courts. This time, the college administration, he argued, used some students to obtain an order from court and facts were not disclosed before a single bench. He said the college administration had opened admission for the 2015 session and now holding exams for the session. The petitioner requested the court to stop UHS from declaring the result of 100 RCMC students. After hearing the arguments, the court issued a stay order against results and sought a detailed reply from UHS by October 11.
