LAHORE
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has said that rulers have made the country corruption-ridden and are looting the people with both hands.
Addressing an Iftar dinner here Tuesday, he said politics had become a quest of wealth and people could not even think of contesting election. However, he said honest and God-fearing leadership should come to power to resolve issues.
JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch and JI Lahore chief Mian Maqsood Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
Sirajul Haq said feudal lords and capitalists had taken all institutions, including politics and democracy hostage. For the elite and the rich, the law was a rubber stamp but for the poor, it was a hard nut. The poor were getting poorer and the rich richer due to the rulers’ policies.
He said in a country established in the name of Islam, the rule of Holy Quran and Sunnah had not been allowed even for a single day. In Holy Quran, usury or interest had been termed as war on Allah and His Prophet (PBUH). However, this war had been going on in the country for the last 68 years. Then, how to achieve peace, prosperity and progress, he asked.
He said that unfortunately, nobody could get justice from the courts. Instead, justice was to be purchased on payment of lakhs of rupees, he said.
Liaqat Baloch said the country was passing through hard times and the enemy forces were out to harm our national unity and harmony. He said one and a half billion Muslims in the world had not been able to resolve the issues of Palestine and Kashmir. The enemy had spread disruption in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Yemen to unleash chaos in the Muslim world. The genocide of the Muslims was going on in Myanmar but the Islamic forces were not ready to join hands even in such a situation.
