Arrested a day earlier, the general manager of the Pakistan State Oil was remanded to the Federal Investigation Agency for four days by a judicial magistrate on Wednesday.
Alleged to have committed corruption to the tune of Rs6 million, Naveed Zuberi was taken into custody by FIA officials from the PSO House on Tuesday morning, by three men dressed in plain clothes.
With four officials of the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) already under detention on charges of corruption, the PSO GM was the fifth corporate sector official to have been detained over corruption charges. Other businessmen and officials belonging to the Sindh province have also been arrested and interrogated on the same pretext since the onset of the Karachi operation in September 2013.
