The personnel of Sindh Rangers carried out another raid at the Ziauddin Hospital in Nazimabad confiscated and some of the records.
The News learnt that the paramilitary troops sealed the premises before carrying out their raid.
The operation was highly targeted since the troops only entered one department of the hospital, based on information provided by the deputy medical superintendent Dr Yousuf Sattar who was arrested during the earlier raid conducted on August 29.
Sources said that Rangers men only went inside the billing and IT departments of the hospital and seized their records.
On Saturday, the Rangers had picked up the deputy medical superintendent of the North Nazimabad branch of Ziauddin Hospital and the maintenance incharge of its Clifton branch, besides taking away documents and data of the two facilities’ finance and IT departments.
The Rangers had also seized the CCTV footage of the hospital in North Nazimabad.
The raids on Ziauddin Hospital have been under way since the arrest of former federal minister Dr Asim Hussain last week.
Three extortionists held
The Sindh Police’s Crime Branch arrested three men for their alleged involvement in extortion while impersonating law-enforcement personnel.
SP Shahjehan Khan of Crime Branch II said the their personnel arrested three men, identified as Mohammed Khan Lakho alias Asir-ul-Hasnain, Wasim Yousuf and Aamir Gul, from the jurisdiction of Frere police station.
