A former female councillor and her driver were gunned down in Sualeh Mohammad Goth in Malir on Monday.
Allah Bachaee, 45, had left her residence in Chaman Colony in Khokhrapar, along with her driver, Peer Mohammad, 50, to do some personal work in the morning when unidentified men shot several gunshots at her car.
Memon Goth SHO Jan Mohammad said that responding to information about the shooting, police rushed to the scene and found the two in critical condition.
The deceased had received bullet wounds at their head and chest which became the cause of their death.
The casualties, who suffered wounds to the heads and chest, were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), where they died.
The SHO said the murders seemed to be target killings, but the police were looking into the incident from different angles.

Four bodies found
The bodies of three men were found near Nestle Company on Link Road in the Memon Goth police remit.
After being called to the spot, police carried the bodies to the JPMC for postmortem examinations.
The initial investigations showed the men had been shot dead after being abducted and tortured. All three had been shot in the upper torso. Their identities are yet to be ascertained.
In Baldia Town, the bullet-riddled body of an unidentified man who appeared to be around 35 years old man was found near Bilal Masjid.
Ittehad Town police said passersby had informed them about the body which was then shifted to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities. A MLO said the body bore torture marks and the cause of death was a single bullet to the head. Officials said it was most likely a kidnapping case gone awry.
