‘Service centres for computerised land completed’

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that under Land Record Management Information System, service centres for computerised land have been completed in all tehsils of the province.
He said the Punjab government had achieved another milestone by completing this revolutionary project of public service. He said that people would be rid of Patwari culture in the province through Land Record Management Information System. He said that due to this historic step, wrong registration of land, corruption, fraud and forgery would be eliminated.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting in Civil Secretariat through a video link, Tuesday. The meeting reviewed progress on Land Record Management Information System and approved setting up of Punjab Land Record Authority for future implementation on Land Record Management Information System.
He said that Land Record Management Information System was a historic step of the Punjab government for providing relief to the people and they would be rid of unnecessary litigation. The chief minister directed that the process of legislation for setting up of authority should be completed at the earliest. He said that the people would get real relief through this splendid project of billions of rupees and the facility of immediately getting ownership deed and transfer of land had become available to the people.
He said that land documents had become available to the people under one roof through this system. He said that effective monitoring system had been evolved with the help of modern technology through the System. He said that state-of-the-art centralised data centre was being set up.
He said pilot project of geographical information system was being started in three districts of Punjab and online information would be available to the people about their land through this modern system.
He said that the scope of this system would be expanded throughout the province under a phased programme. He said training of staff of service centres and refresher courses were essential for them and full attention should be paid to it.
