JAMRUD: Unknown persons shot dead the driver of a Nato-Supply container here on Sunday, official sources said.
The sources said that unknown person attacked in Tedi bazaar the container, carrying supplies for the Afghanistan-based US-led Nato forces. “The driver of the vehicle was killed when unknown gunmen sprayed the vehicle with bullets, killing the driver on the spot,” official sources said.
The driver was identified as Rozi Khan, resident of Afghanistan. The Khassadar personnel reached the spot and collected pieces of evidence. A case was registered against unknown persons.
TAKHT BHAI: The police have defused explosives in the limits of Shergarh Police Station, sources said.The sources said unidentified miscreants had placed four kilograms of explosive material in a field in Zarinabad. “The explosives were hidden in a water cooler, which were successfully defused by the BDU officials,” said a police official.
MARDAN: Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a police party in the limits Katlang Police Station late Saturday night, police officials said.They said a police party headed by Assistant Sub-Inspector Fazal Malik Khan was on way to the Kati Garhi Basic Health Unit (BHU) when it was attacked. The police party, however, escaped unhurt.The police registered a case against unidentified gunmen and started investigation.
JAMRUD: Unidentified persons fired rocket shells at a power pylon at Shahkas village in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency on Saturday night, sources said. The sources said three rockets were fired by unidentified persons at a pylon supplying 1,32000 KV electricity to Landikotal Grid Station, destroying it completely.
The power supply to Landikotal and Shalman was disrupted after the incident.Meanwhile, a man was gunned down in the Tedi Bazaar in the Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency on Saturday night, it was learnt. Behram Khan was on his way home when unidentified persons shot him dead in Tedi Bazaar. Following the incident, the personnel of Khassadar Force reached the spot.
