ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Monday said if the proof of rigging in the general elections 2013 is in the ballot bags, what had Imran Khan and his party been doing to collect evidence for the last several months?
The minister, in a statement, said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had to eat humble pie when the ballot boxes of the NA-122 constituency were opened, as the vote tally of winning candidate, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, increased further.
Imran Khan, he said, sometimes claimed that the proofs of rigging were in ballot boxes and sometimes he said the same were in his possession. “How long would he try to befool the masses?” he asked.
The minister also questioned as to how the PTI chief secured 7 million votes in general elections 2013 if the same were rigged.Imran, he added, had lost trust of the people and damaged his public image due to lies he had been continuously telling to the nation.
He questioned as to what Imran Khan was doing in Islamabad while the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were suffering from rains. The people, he said, were being killed by torrential rains but KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak was nowhere to be found monitoring the rescue operation.
