8 Iranians among 13 Tableeghis quarantined in Bannu
BANNU: The authorities on Wednesday quarantined 13 members of the Tableeghi Jamaat, including eight Iranians, who had arrived here on a preaching mission. About 13 members of the Tableeghi Jamaat had arrived at Ghariwala in Bannu district including eight reportedly Iranians and five Pakistanis. They were quarantined and were being tested for coronavirus. They had apparently come from the Tablieeghi Jamaat headquarters in Raiwind near Lahore where a huge gathering of its members, including foreigners, was held recently. Deputy Commissioner Bannu Mohammad Zubair Khan directed the officials concerned to take steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Meanwhile, the swab of a person who had returned from Malaysia was reportedly delayed by one day due to the alleged negligence of staff at the Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in Bannu. It was learnt that the swab of one Barkatullah, who had gone to Malaysia as part of the preaching mission of Dawat-e-Tableegh, could not be sent to Peshawar on time. He has been kept at the isolation ward of the hospital since his arrival from Malaysia.
