Brave PIA

The evacuation of Pakistanis stranded in Yemen is underway and the first flight carrying over 500 Pakistanis has reached backed safely. Evacuating people from a war-torn country is nothing short of heroic. According to media reports, the crew that operated the flight had volunteered to be part of the operation.
We have been highly critical of PIA in recent years for its mounting losses. These losses are a consequence of decades of political interference. PIA and its crew has done a great job of saving their countrymen by putting their own lives at risk. The government should announce rewards for the bravery shown by the PIA crew. For a nation that is at war acts like these should not go unnoticed and deserve encouragement.
