Ambulances stuck in traffic are a common sight in Karachi. The painful part is that people don’t care enough to make way for ambulance, which can be carrying a patient struggling for his life. They see lights flashing, hear sirens wailing but they remain indifferent. For them reaching on time is much more important than someone’s life.
The government should reserve special lanes for emergencies to ensure that no ambulance gets stuck in traffic. The traffic police should then make sure that the lane is strictly reserved for emergencies only. It is also our duty to be kind enough to give space to ambulances so that they can reach hospitals in time. Every life is precious and should be saved at any cost.
