Foreign players confirm participation in junior tennis tourney
KARACHI: Foreign players have confirmed their participation in the ATF-Pakistan 14 & Under Super Series Tennis Championships, organised by Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), from March 7 to 20 at S Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad.
“It is after almost a decade that the PTF has succeeded in getting any international events for Pakistan,” PTF Secretary Khalid Rehmani said.
“The first leg of the tournament will be organised and sponsored by the PTF and the second leg by Islamabad Tennis Association,” he added.
These ATF-sanctioned events carry ATF ranking points.
“In the first leg, two boys from Sri Lanka, one from Britain, two boys and one girl from Hong Kong, one boy from Malaysia and one girl from India have sent their entries,” he said.
“For the second leg, one boy from Britain, three boys and one girl from Hong Kong, one boy from Iran, one from Malaysia and two boys and two girls from Sri Lanka have sent their entries,” he added.
He said that all foreign players would be extended complimentary accommodation at S Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex.
