NAB chief praises Lahore Bureau’s performance

LAHORE: NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry visited NAB Lahore Regional Bureau to review its performance on the basis of annual inspection conducted by Chairman’s Inspection & Monitoring Team (CI&MT) Friday. 

According to a press release, CI&MT was deputed to conduct annual inspection of NAB Lahore regional bureau for 2015. The inspection was carried out from February 10 to February 12, 2015 in order to evaluate its performance on the basis of newly introduced Partly Quantified Grading System (PQGS).  

Senior member CI&MT gave a detailed briefing to chairman about the annual inspection. He said on directions of Qamar Zaman PQGS had been devised in 2014 under which performance of all regional bureaus was conducted in 2014 at uniform criteria. 

He directed CI&MT to conduct inspection of all bureaus which has stated from January 2016 and inspection of Karachi, Rawalpindi, KP and Sukkur during January 2016. NAB chief directed the team to give final presentation. 

Qamar said Lahore bureau is contributing to overall performance of NAB. In 2015, NAB Lahore received 4,874 complaints which were in process according to law. NAB Lahore, out of 312 complaints verification (CVs), completed 270 complaints verification. NAB Lahore, out of 341 inquiries, completed 270 whereas out of 211 investigations, NAB Lahore has completed 119 investigations on merit. During 2015, NAB Lahore arrested 156 corrupts and filed 111 corruption references and recovered Rs 1056.653 million. 

 The CI&MT graded NAB Lahore’s performance Outstanding/Excellent as 89.24 percent operational efficiency index. Qamar appreciated performance of Burhan Ali, DG NAB Lahore.
