PESHAWAR: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, on Tuesday ruled out privatisation of government hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that the KP government was initiating reforms in the health sector for better delivery system.
He said that legal action would be taken against the doctors who violated the rules after the court verdict.He was addressing a press conference at the CM House here.
Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai, Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan, Minister for Labour Shah Farman Khan and Adviser to the CM on Information Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani were present on the occasion.
Imran Khan said that the KP government was not privatising the hospitals, but it only wanted to reform the government hospitals to improve treatment facilities for the people.
Imran Khan said that 95 percent of doctors were in favor of health reforms, and only five percent were against the reforms due to their own interests.Reading out a court verdict of December 7, 2015, he said that now the doctors could not stage demonstrations on the issue, and action would be taken against the violators.
