SUKKUR: The police here claimed to have recovered four women who had been reportedly kidnapped in some other city and then brought to Sukkur and held hostage in a house.
A man purported to be the “kidnapper” had been arrested. However, police said that there are some loopholes in the versions and counter-versions of the whole incident provided to them.
They are investigating into the case to get to the facts surrounding the matter. Police said the “recovered” women had been sent to the Women Police Station and would be taken to a court on Monday for recording their statements.
It all started when a woman walked into the Site Area Police Station and told the police that she had managed to escape from the captivity of her kidnappers by a dint of luck. However, she also told the police that some other women were still being held hostage, and then she led the police to the house from where other women were rescued. Meanwhile, the man in police custody denied the kidnapping charge and said that the women had come to him to get a talisman.
