New airline can’t be set up sans parliament nod: JAC
KARACHI: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees while expressing its reaction on the government’s announcement to set up a new airline, said that a new airline could not be established without the approval of parliament.
It asked how the government could set up a new airline while one airline was not being run by it. The spokesman for the JAC said that those who failed to stop corruption in Wapda had become experts on PIA. It said that the airline would probably become profitable if the government did nothing.
The spokesman said that the advisers of the prime minister were proving that the airline was collapsing on their advice. He said that the threats of the government would be challenged in the Supreme Court.
