Leader says JI to launch mass awareness campaign against corruption
PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Information Secretary Ameerul Azeem said on Wednesday that his party would launch a mass awareness campaign against corruption across the country.
Speaking at the guest hour programme of Peshawar Press Club, he said seminars would be arranged and demonstrations staged to create awareness among the masses about corruption.
The JI leader said his party would publish a whitepaper about corruption in different departments to expose corrupt elements. He said the JI would also raise voice against corruption at every forum, including National Assembly, Senate and provincial assemblies.
The JI leader condemned the attack on Bacha Khan University. He said the government had failed to curb terror acts. “The government cannot shrug off its responsibility by saying that the terror act was controlled from Afghanistan,” he added. He suggested that the police and intelligence agencies should be equipped with the latest technology to effectively counter the acts of terror.’
