Forgotten bureau

The Karachi University’s Bureau of Composition, Compilation and Translation is on the verge of collapse. It is used as the dumping ground of the university. Any person who needs to be punished or promoted is deputed to the department. There seems to be no realisation on the part of the university administration to call a selection board meeting or advertise posts. The last time posts were advertised for the department was way back in 2004 and the selection board was held in 2005.

After the retirement of the last regular deputy director, Tariq Mahmood, no selection board has sat down to elect the director or deputy director of the department. All previous and present directors have nothing to do with printing, publishing or authorship. The Sindh education department is requested to look into the matter and appoint qualified and competent people as per the need of the department.
