CNS All-Pakistan Hockey offers Rs1.1 million to winners
KARACHI: The winning team of the inaugural Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) All Pakistan Hockey Tournament 2016 will receive lucrative cash prize of Rs 1.1 million.
The teams which secure place on the podium at second and third will bag Rs.800,000 and Rs.600,000, respectively.
Pakistan Navy is sponsoring the tournament, expecting it to be one of the igniting forces for the revival of the national sport.
The tournament is slated for January 19 to 28 and will be played here at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium.
A total of eight top national teams, namely Navy, Army, Air force, Police, National Bank of Pakistan,Sui Southern Gas Limited, Pakistan Customs and PIA will be seen in action.
A total of 16 matches will be played in the tournament including 12 league matches, two semi-finals, third position match and the final. League matches of the tournament will be conducted in two pools where each team will play three matches.
