Pak cadet awarded at Royal Military Academy

SANDHURST: A Pakistani cadet has won distinction at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst by gaining three awards on the basis of his outstanding performance over a year.
Officer Cadet Shaheeer Ullah Khan was presented with three awards by General Sir Peter Wall, Chief of the General Staff, at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst’s annual ‘The Sovereign’s Parade’ on Friday. Shaheer hails from a village in Pabbi, Nowshehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was given ‘The Overseas Award’ for achieving the highest position amongst the Overseas Cadets on the Queen’s Medal Table.
The Queen’s Medal Table is based on an accumulation of all the objective testing conducted throughout the Commissioning Course covering military, academic and practical studies, with a ratio of 30:70 in favour of the military score.
He was given ‘HRH Prince Saud Abdullah Faisal of Saudi Arabia Prize’ for obtaining the ‘best aggregate mark in Academic Subjects’ and he also received ‘The Bahrain Communications and Applied Behavioral Science Prize’ for producing the best performance in Communication & Applied Behavioral Science. Shaheer will return to Pakistan to Kakul Academy within a week where he will resume his training.
Speaking to this correspondent Shaheer Ullah Khan said that he was proud that his hard work had paid off and he was awarded with three prestigious awards. “I thank Allah for this. This recognition is for Pakistan. I worked hard throughout my stay at the Sandhurst to ensure that I made mark and win distinction for my country.”
He said that Pak Army was involved in battle against extremist in NWA. “Our soldiers are rendering great sacrifices for peace and prosperity not only in Pakistan but also for the region. We are given the best training and taught best professional ethos. The whole world recognises the best professional standards set by Pak Army.”
