Two Rangers men among four hurt in sewer line blast
Karachi
Two Rangers personnel and two civilians were injured after an explosion occurred in a sewerage pipe near a check post of the paramilitary force in Nazimabad No 7 on Thursday.
A car and a motorcycle were also damaged due to the blast.
District Central SSP Muqaddas Haider said gas trapped inside a sewer near the Rangers check post located near the matric board office caused it to burst, causing injuries to four people.
The injured were identified as Dr Saud Ahmed, whose FX car was also damaged, rickshaw driver Falak Zada and Rangers men Muhammad Rafiq and Saleem.
The SSP said bomb disposal squad and forensic experts were called in and they confirmed that the explosion was not caused by any act of terror, but due to gas trapped inside a sewerage line.
The injured were moved to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
However, the blast spread panic in the area and traffic was jammed for quite a while as the law enforcers ascertained the nature of the incident.
