Six cops suspended in Lakki  for negligence

LAKKI MARWAT: Six policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector, were suspended from service for negligence on Wednesday after the murder of a woman outside the court of additional district and sessions judge a day earlier.

“District Police Officer (DPO) Ali Akbar has placed ASI Muhammad Azim and constables including Inam Khan, Farman Khan, Muhammad Javed, Khurrum Iqbal and Inamullah Khan under suspension with immediate effect,” said an official.

He said that the suspended cops were posted at the main gate of judicial complex and occurrence of the woman’s murder outside the courtroom showed gross negligence and inefficiency on their part.

“The copies of the suspension orders of the policemen were also sent to the regional police chief, superintendant of police (investigation) and other officials concerned,” he maintained, saying that the suspended cops may face departmental inquiry for the charges of dereliction, negligence and inefficiency.

He said that police had started investigating the murder incident on different angles after registration of case under section 302 (premeditated murdered) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal code in Ghaznikhel police station. “Najibullah, an assistant sub-inspector of Ghaznikhel Police Station, is the complainant in the FIR,” he said.

Official said that the deceased Ms (K-B) had eloped with one Ameenullah some two months back and her father had lodged an FIR against Ameenullah and his brother Samiullah for abducting her daughter. He added that on Tuesday she had come to the court of additional district and sessions judge to record her statement.

“But she was murdered by her brothers Faheemullah and Mustafa as soon as she came out of the courtroom,” he maintained. He said that the killers were arrested on the spot and a pistol used in the crime was recovered from them.

Meanwhile, Lakki district bar association at a meeting demanded the chief justice of Peshawar High Court to take suo motu notice of the woman’s murder incident.
