New industries to help create job opportunities, says Pervez Khattak
NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Saturday that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was setting up new industries for economic growth of the province and to create new employment opportunities.
Speaking at a public meeting in Azakhel Bala here, the chief minister said that setting up of new industries for economic growth of the province was on top of the provincial government’s agenda.
Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel, Member Provincial Assembly Jehandad Khan, District Nazim Liaqat Khattak and others were present on the occasion.
Pervez Khattak said the government was working day and night to streamline the decades old faulty system to provide relief to the common people.
He said the government had introduced reforms in the government departments and taken various steps to provide relief to the people. “The PTI-led provincial government is transforming its slogan of change into a reality,” he added.
The chief minister said the people would notice the change in the coming days. He added that the government had taken effective steps for restructuring the education, health, police and patwar system.
He said the government had sacked over 1,400 teachers for absence from duty and introduced a proper mechanism for their services’ upgradation and revamped the thana culture.
The chief minister said the government had made an end to the sifarish culture in recruitment in the government departments and upheld merit in employment.
Enumerating the development work being carried out in Azakhel, Pervez Khattak said that construction on high school was underway.
He said the government had approved Rs180 million for construction of embankments along a seasonal stream in Azakhel to protect the low lying areas from future floods and its devastation. The chief minister said streets would be constructed and drains would be cemented there in the near future.
He said that an advance Technical University was being set up while work on a state-of-the-art Medical Complex would be started in the coming days in Nowshera. On the occasion, deputy nazim of village council-III, Mir Afzal Khan, councillor Tehseenullah, Muhammad Waseem and Atif Iqbal resigned from the Awami National Party and announced joining the PTI.
