25 suspects held in crackdown

BAHAWALPUR: City police have detained 25 suspects in a crackdown against criminal elements on the direction of Regional Police Officer Dr Ehsan Sadiq.
According to the RPO spokesman, police recovered 630 bottles of foreign and locally manufactured liquor and 2.5 kg charas from the suspects.
Police also detained 9 women and 14 men from brothels.
Five gamblers were also held from a gambling den. Cases were registered against the suspects in respective police stations.
GOLD SNATCHED: A female school teacher was robbed of gold and cash on Friday.
Two robbers snatched seven tola gold and thousands of rupees from the teacher near Jamia Rashidia in Chistian.
OLD MAN KILLED: An old man was killed in a road accident on Friday.
Muhammad Sharif was walking on Bahawalnagar-Chistian Road near Chak Abdulla, when a speeding car hit and killed him.
