Youth attempts self-immolation outside office

GUJRANWALA: A youth attempted self-immolation in front of the passport office here on Thursday.
Muhammad Ahmad, a resident of Chaman Shah Road, had applied for an urgent passport but after a lot of visits to the office he failed to get it. On the day of the incident, he came to the office and complaint to the assistant director about the matter but he allegedly welcomed him with harsh words. It disheartened Ahmad and he attempted self-immolation by dousing himself in petrol. However, the people saved him and informed police, who reached the spot and arrested him. A case has been registered against him.
WATCHMAN MURDERED: A factory watchman was gunned down by unidentified people here on Wednesday night.
Latif, 40, was present in the factory when unidentified people shot him dead. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
