WANA: Unidentified gunmen shot dead four persons, including a tribal elder, in Shaktoi area in Ladha tehsil in South Waziristan, official sources said on Thursday.
They said that tribal elder Malik Wali Khan Mehsud along with Malik Akbar Khan Mehsud, Jawad Mehsud and an unidentified tribesman were gunned down in an ambush in the Shaktoi area.
The sources said that armed men waiting in ambush began firing indiscriminately at the tribal elder and his companions. They said all four men were killed on the spot. It could not be ascertained whether it was an outcome of personal enmity or an act of terrorism. The largely attended funeral prayers of the four men were offered in Shaktoi. They were later laid to rest in their native graveyard.
