ISLAMABAD: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in reaction to the Election Commission’s notice to party Chairman Imran Khan for not holding intra-party polls, said that the exercise would be held after one year, as last time, this was done in 2017. The PTI Central Secretary Information Ahmed Jawad said, “PTI is the party that introduced intra-party elections in the country. Intra-party elections are a key part of the PTI's constitution. Imran Khan is the only leader with a clear vision and blunt stance on intra-party elections.” He added, “Since its inception till date, transparent intra-party elections have been held regularly. The PTI has not only conducted intra-party elections but has also provided innovation and transparency in the system of conducting them: established an independent Election Commission.” He said the PTI held its last intra-party election in June 2017, the entire process of which was broadcast in detail by the national media.
