10kg hashish seized, 6 drug peddlers arrested in Mardan

MARDAN: Narcotics Eradication Team (NET) has recovered 10kg hashish and arrested 6 alleged drug dealers across the district, a senior police officer said.

Speaking to journalists, District Police Officer Dr Zahidullah Khan said that the NET continued operations against the narcotics sellers since its establishment.

He added that in the ongoing operations, NET has arrested 6 drug dealers. The arrested narcotics sellers were identified as Rafaq Ali, resident of Dheri Baba, Ejaz and Hazrat Ali, residents of Shirabad, Afaq, resident of Gali Bagh, Ahmad Yar, resident of Jahangirabad, and Iftikhar, resident of Lundkhwar.

The DPO added that NET officials recovered 10,901 grams of hashish, 84 grams of heroin and 17 liters of liquor from the arrestees’ possession. He added that police registered separate cases against the accused in the police stations concerned.

Meanwhile, the City Police Station personnel arrested Wahab Gul, a resident of Kozkande Baghdada, for allegedly displaying weapons on social media and registered a case against him.

The DPO appealed to the public to avoid displaying weapons on social media.

Meanwhile, the cops also arrested one Izhar Ali, in a robbery case after an FIR was filed about theft of gold jewellery and cash amount. The police also recovered Rs700,000 stolen amount from the arrestee.
