Five cops sacked for links with drug mafia
PESHAWAR: The district police officer, Khyber, has dismissed five policemen for having links with the drug mafia.
An official said that District Police Officer (DPO), Khyber, Waseem Riaz dismissed five constables posted in different areas of the district for having links with the drug dealers and smugglers.
The dismissal came after a proper inquiry. “More cops are being monitored in Khyber and Peshawar to find their connections with mafias so strict action can be taken against them,” said the official.
There are a large number of drug dealers active in Khyber, Peshawar and other parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Despite major operations launched against them, the menace is yet to be controlled.
Tens of thousands of people have become addicted to ice, heroin and other drugs after all the forces failed to cut the supply route.
