Muqam blasts ministers’ diatribe against Maryam
PESHAWAR: Condemning the ‘uncalled-for’ remarks of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ministers against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice-president Maryam Nawaz, the party’s provincial president Amir Muqam on Saturday said the PTI leaders were devoid of civility and decency.
Addressing a gathering, he said the PTI had caused immense damage to the social and political order in the country. On the occasion, former district councillor Irshad Khan of Awami National Party from Mardan announced joining the PML-N along with scores of supporters.
Amir Muqam said a PTI minister held secret meetings with Israelis. “It is strange that the ones who held meetings with Israelis were objecting to the meeting of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif with an Afghan official.
He said the ones using indecent language against a woman did not deserve to represent the Pakhtuns. “The rulers are pandering to the diktats of the International Monetary Fund,” he said, adding the PTI government buried the country under huge loan. Amir Muqam said that the country lurched from one crisis to another, but the rulers were least bothered to provide relief to the have-nots in the face of backbreaking inflation. He accused Prime Minister Imran Khan of selling Kashmir and compromising on the country’s sovereignty. The PTI government, he added, was selected and imposed on the nation. Amir Muqam said that it was the PML-N which had the ability to steer the country out of the prevailing morass and put the nation on the path to progress and development.
