Holidaymakers throng Margallas
Islamabad: As the weather was pleasant, the holidaymakers thronged the hiking trails of Margalla Hills National Park during Eid days, especially on Thursday and Friday. However, they returned before the sunset fearing attacks by the wildlife. Only Trail 6 was closed to trekkers for safety reasons.
Most people, including women and children, went to trails 3, 4 and 5, which were developed by the Capital Development Authority for trekking. They included foreigners based in Islamabad and the people from the city’s outskirts. As the CDA placed trash cans on those trails and put up notices urging people not to litter, the visitors acted accordingly, by and large. However, used water bottles, cans, plates and plastic wrappers were spotted at some places.
