LAHORE:Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will emerge victorious in the AJK elections going to be held tomorrow (Sunday) and form the government there, like in Gilgit-Baltistan.
In a statement issued here, the chief minister said the people had rejected the narrative of the opposition in AJK totally and defeat was the fate of the opposition parties there. The Kashmiris were siding with honest leadership and they would vote for the trustworthy leadership, he added. The PTI would win the elections with the support of Kashmiris and blessings of Allah Almighty and the people would crush the idols of corruption with the power of their vote. PM Imran Khan had been highlighting the Kashmir issue before the world as he was real ambassador of the Kashmiris, concluded the CM.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Usman Buzdar has announced Rs20 million as financial assistance for the injured and heirs of passengers who died in the Dera Ghazi Khan road accident.
He also directed the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT) to hold an inquiry to name those responsible for the negligence. In the light of the report, further action would be initiated against those responsible for the loss of more than 30 lives. Deputy Commissioner Rajanpur and administrative officers gave away financial aid cheques to the affectees and condoled with them on behalf of the government, said a handout issued here on Friday. The chief minister said that the government would not leave the affectees alone and extend every possible support to them. “I am deeply saddened over the loss of lives and extend heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families,” he added.
CLEANLINESS: The chief minister visited different areas of the provincial capital and reviewed the cleanliness situation.
According to the official sources, the chief minister visited Davis Road, Empress Road, Multan Road, Lytton Road, Montgomery Road, McLeod Road, Shadman, Shah Jamal and other areas.
He also interacted with workers who were busy in carrying out cleanliness operation. He appreciated the workers for doing their work with commitment and ensuring neat and clean environment for Lahorites. He said that offal and animal waste should be removed timely. Zero-waste operation in the provincial capital should be ensured at all costs as negligence in this regard would not be tolerated, he added. He said that administration and Lahore Waste Management Company should work together for improving the cleanliness work in the metropolis.
Usman Buzdar directed the relevant authorities to continuously monitor ongoing cleanliness operation in the city. It is pertinent to mention here that CM visited different areas without protocol and traffic was not stopped at any point.
Corona SOPs: The chief minister has appealed to the people to remain careful as the number of patients was increasing in the province due to the fourth corona wave.
In a statement issued on Friday, he said that the people should avoid the virus by following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) as it was in their interest. Everyone should exhibit responsible social behavior as the disease was spreading fast again, he said. The people should get vaccinated and wear face masks, the CM added.
