Buzdar warns of smart lockdown over negligence
LAHORE:Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the monitoring teams to conduct checking of markets and other places across the province to ensure strict compliance of corona standard operating procedures (SOPs).
In a statement here on Monday, the chief minister said that legal action be initiated in case of any violation. He ordered for constituting special monitoring teams during the Eid holidays as protection of the people’s lives was important and every step would be taken in that regard.
The chief minister regretted that coronavirus cases were increasing due to non-observance of the SOPs and the number of patients was also rising in hospitals due to negligence. The fourth corona wave had started and the citizens should follow instructions to overcome it. In the wake of an increase in corona cases, smart lockdowns and other restrictions could be intensified, added the CM.
Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the transport department and the district administration to take strict action against the transporters involved in overcharging on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
In a statement, the chief minister directed them to visit bus stands and take action against transporters fleecing the passengers. Gulab Devi underpass ceremony postponed: Due to important engagements of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, the foundation stone laying ceremony of Gulab Devi underpass and Lahore bridge expansion project has been postponed and a new date will be announced soon.
