Four women among seven killed in Karak accident
KARAK/KOHAT: Seven passengers, including four women, were killed and eight others were injured in a road accident on the Indus Highway near the Krappa area of the Karak district on Sunday, police officials said.
They said a passenger van was on its way to Shakardarra from Rawalpindi when it collided with a truck near the Krappa area in the limits of Banda Daud Shah Police Station.
The accident, they said, was so severe that the truck turned turtle and overturned after the collision.
The officials said seven passengers, including four women, died on the spot and eight others were injured.
The personnel of Rescue 1122 reached the spot soon after receiving the information about the accident and used heavy machinery to retrieve the bodies and pull out the injured from the wreckage of the van.
The bodies and the injured were shifted to a hospital in Kohat. Doctors said that the condition of four injured persons was serious.
Eyewitnesses said that the road accident occurred due to over-speeding.
