Two dengue cases reported in 24 hours

LAHORE : Two confirmed cases of dengue infection were reported in Lahore during the last 24 hours.

One dengue confirmed patient was reported from Shaukat Khanum Lab and one confirmed case was reported from Mayo Hospital Lab, Lahore. During the current year, total 58 confirmed cases of dengue were reported from all across the province and out of all confirmed patients, 28 patients were reported from Lahore. Two new case of dengue were reported across the whole province the other day. No more dengue patient is under treatment in any hospitals throughout the province. In the last 24 hours, 292,343 indoor and 69,800 other locations were checked across Punjab while larvae were destroyed at 9,903 locations. In Lahore, 51,775 houses and 8,707 outdoor places were checked for dengue larvae and 652 positive containers were destroyed. Meanwhile, Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Secretary Sarah Aslam directed the department to intensify the dengue prevention activities across Punjab. She also appealed to the people that no filth of sacrificed animals and garbage should be dumped in open places on the occasion of Eidul Azha. Precautionary measures against dengue are very important. Citizens should be more responsible with regard to steps against dengue during monsoon. Rainwater should not accumulate in the residential areas.

Health Secretary Sarah Aslam said that precautionary measures against dengue should also be taken besides taking precautionary measures against coronavirus. She asked the people to keep their surroundings neat and clean. She also requested the public to extend full cooperation to the Health Department teams if they come to their houses or business centres for checking dengue larvae.
