Police firing leaves two students injured
MIRANSHAH: Two students sustained injuries when cops reportedly opened fire to disperse the people outside an examination hall in Mir Ali tehsil in North Waziristan, sources said on Friday. The sources said the students of Government Degree College Mir Ali were attempting a paper and a large number of people had gathered outside the examination hall. The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Bannu is conducting the examination.
The cops, it was learnt, repeatedly asked the people to leave the place but they did not pay any attention, which led to a scuffle between the cops and the people.
It was alleged that the police officials opened the fire to disperse the people, leaving two students wounded. District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan said action would be taken against the erring cops.
