PHC moved against death sentence by military court
PESHAWAR: A man challenged in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) his brother’s death sentence awarded by a military court.Muhammad Ayaz, a resident of Mohmand Agency, moved the PHC against his brother’s death sentence.
The petitioner claimed in the petition that his brother Muhammad Imran was a student of FSc in Islamia College Peshawar. Later, he said that he remained a student of religious seminary Jamia Binoria Karachi for four years.
He claimed that security forces picked him up in 2008 and then je remained missing. It was stated that the family members also met him during the custody of security forces. It said that in January 1, 2016 the family members knew through newspaper that he had been awarded death sentence by a military court in a case of attacks on security forces and his involvement in terrorism incidents.
It was claimed in the petition that the convict was innocent and not involved in attacks on security forces and terrorism incidents. It said that he was now shifted to Timergara prison and any time he could be hanged. In an interim relief, it was requested the court to suspend the conviction till disposal of the case.
