Woman gunned down by uncle

LAHORE : A woman was shot dead by her uncle in the limits of Manawan police on Thursday. The victim has been identified as Shakira. According to her family, Faisal, the victim's uncle, shot her dead. Police and forensic teams gathered evidence from the crime scene and removed the body to the morgue. A police team has been formed to arrest the accused.

BOGUS CHEQUE: Sarwar Road Investigation police arrested two persons wanted by Lahore police in bogus cheque cases. The accused have been identified as Muhammad Arshad and Muhammad Waheed. Muhammad Arshad had given a bogus cheque for Rs700,000 in exchange for chicken feed and Muhammad Waheed had given a bogus cheque to a man in exchange for a loan of Rs900,000.

BODY FOUND: The body of a 35-year-old woman with torture marks on it was found in BRB Canal in the Batapur area on Thursday.

The body, yet to be identified, had marks of torture on the face and looked two to three days old. Police removed it to the morgue.

Meanwhile, a girl died under mysterious circumstances in the Nawab Town area on Thursday. The girl identified as Nida hailed from Multan and had got a flat on rent in Nasheman-e-Iqbal Housing Society five days ago. Her body was found hanging from a rope attached with the ceiling fan. Police shifted the body to the morgue.

INJURED: A 13-year-old boy was badly injured by a speeding motorcycle near Scheme Morr in Allama Iqbal Town on Thursday. Imran, 13, was hit and injured by a speeding motorcyclist while crossing a road. Edhi volunteers provided medical assistance to the victim on the spot.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old motorcyclist was hit by a speeding rickshaw at Shahdara Morr on Thursday. The injured was removed to hospital by Edhi volunteers where his condition was stated to be stable.

MAN DIES: An unidentified man died in a hospital on Thursday a few hours after he was found unconscious outside a home in Valencia Town, Kahna area. He was a watchman in Valencia Town. Edhi Ambulance removed the body to the morgue.
