Fake medicines worth millions of rupees seized
MULTAN: A joint team of district administration, health department and police raided a house in Chah Thalewala area of Double Phatak and recovered fake drugs worth millions of rupees on Wednesday.
The raiding team also seized fake packing material and seals from the house.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ali Shehzad reached the spot along with CEO Health Dr Shoaib-ur-Rehman, Drug Controller Rao Sajid and CSO Shabana Saif and inspected the stock of the counterfeit medicines.
The drawing room, store, bedrooms and courtyard of the house were full of boxes of counterfeit medicines.
Talking to reporters, the DC said the health department was planning to seize the fake medicines since last two months. He said those who were involved in fake medicines deal are enemies of humanity. He vowed tracing and arresting the elements behind this nefarious business.
