Two shot, wounded for offering resistance during mugging bids

Five people were injured in separate firing incidents in parts of the city on Sunday.

According to police, a 28-year-old man, Yousuf, son of Kashif, was injured in a firing incident that took place in the Madina Colony area in Baldia Town. Police said the man was shot due to putting up resistance during a mugging bid.

Yousuf was shifted to the Civil Hospital, Karachi.

In another incident, another man, Ghulam Abbas, 28, son of Haq Nawaz, was wounded by muggers when he offered resistance to them within the limits of the Surjani Town police station.

He was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A case has been registered and further investigations are underway.

Separately, three brothers were wounded in firing and knife attacks in the Orangi Town area. The injured persons were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

Police said the three men were attacked during a clash. The injured brothers included Ismail, Dadu and Jalandar.
