Hospital employees urged to get vaccinated by 15th

LAHORE : In view of the surge of the fourth wave of Covid pandemic across the province, Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department (SHC&MED), Punjab, has proactively engaged in activities to ensure implementation of Corona SOPs strictly.

According to a hand out issued here on Saturday, SHC&MED Secretary Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan, while chairing a high-level meeting, said that the department has directed all the medical institutions, colleges and hospitals to get their employees vaccinated by 15th July and heads of the medical institutions shall issue certificates to the department, certifying that all their employees have been vaccinated.

While issuing a letter to 81 medical institutions under its control in this regard, the SHC&MED informed that, after 15th July, the non-vaccinated employees will not be allowed to enter the premises of any hospital or medical institution and they shall be marked as absent from duty.

Meanwhile, Secretary, Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department Punjab Sarah Aslam has said that a gradual decrease in COVID-19 infection rate has been witnessed in the province.

According to a hand out issued here on Saturday, during a daily review meeting of activities of COVID-19 across the Punjab, it was informed that 240 new cases have been reported, bringing the total number of cases to 347,793. Until now 328,554 patients have fully recovered across the province while the number of active cases is 8424. During the previous 24 hours, 3 more deaths had been reported by COVID-19 in Lahore, while a total 10 deaths have been reported across the Province, bringing the total number of deaths to 10,815.
