5 killed over land dispute

MINGORA: Five persons were killed and 16 others sustained injuries when members of two tribes traded fire over a land dispute in Kalam and Atror in Swat district on Saturday.
The police said that the two tribes from Kalam and Atror started firing on each other over a piece of land, which continued till the afternoon.
They said that five persons were killed and 16 others sustained injuries in the clash, who were taken to the Saidu Sharif Hospital.
Heavy contingent of police were sent to the area to calm down the infighting tribes.
Meanwhile, the traders closed down Kalam bazaar due to the volatile situation in the area.
They demanded the district administration and police to take practical steps for maintaining law and order.
