Elders want accelerated development
GHALLANAI: The elders belonging to the Khwezai tribe in Mohmand Agency on Sunday asked the government to speed up development work in the area.
Speaking at a grand jirga here, the elders including Malik Fayyaz, Malik Nek Muhammad and Mehrabuddin and others also asked the authorities to take steps for improving the condition of schools and hospitals in regions.
They also demanded reopening of Pak-Afghan highway. “The Khwezai tribe has rendered tremendous sacrifices for peace. And the government must facilitate them,” said Malik Fayaz.The elders said that they would continue cooperation with the security forces and administration in maintaining peace.
“We will not allow anyone to sabotage peace in the area and take action against the delinquents in accordance with the tribal tradition,” said Malik Fayyaz.The elders also said that they wanted reforms in the Frontier Crimes Regulation.
